Two businessmen were killed as a human hauler (locally known as ‘lorry’) hit a mini truck at Sarishakoal area on Hatikumrul-Pabna highway in Sirajganj on Tuesday morning.

The victims were identified as Md Abdul Aziz, 58, hailing from Sarishakoal village at Garadah union of the upazila and Dulal Hossain, 35, son of deceased Babulal Hossain, of Masipur village of the same upazila.

Saiful Islam, chairman of Garadah Union Parishad, said the lorry hit the Pabna-bound mini truck carrying the businessmen this morning, leaving Aziz dead on the spot and another injured.

Later, the injured was taken to Shahjadpur Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Md Akteruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatikumrul Police Station, confirmed the matter, adding that police seized the truck and a process is underway to file a case in this connection.
